Post-Women and the Silent Screen 2013 Publication Opportunity
Call for Full Papers: Special Dossier, Screening in the Past
Dear Colleagues,
Since October last year we have been exploring several different opportunities for publishing work presented at Women and the Silent Screen VII, hosted by the University of Melbourne.
We are pleased to announce that a special dossier of papers from the conference will be published by the online screen history journal, Screening the Past (http://www.screeningthepast.com). Publication of the special dossier will coincide with the next Women and the Silent Screen VIII conference, 17-19 September 2015, University of Pittsburgh, convened by Mark Lynn Anderson.
In accordance with the practice established for Researching Women in Silent Cinema: New Findings and Perspectives, edited by Monica Dall’Asta, Victoria Duckett and Lucia Tralli (2013), all papers will be subject to peer review. We are in the process of finalizing the Board of Referees, and we hope that many if not all of the past members will continue to serve as referees for this conference-related publication.
We invite you to submit your full paper for review by Friday 31 October to ScreeningthePastWSS@gmail.com.
When submitting your paper, please follow these guidelines:
email your paper as a Word document (removing all details identifying the author);
use The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th edition, referencing style with endnotes (without bibliography); first citations to a work should be complete and subsequent citations should be to author last name, short title and page number(s);
in a second separate Word document, include your name, institutional affiliation, email, short biographical note, title of your paper and a 200–300 word abstract;
papers should be 2,500–3,000 words, excluding endnotes.
We will let you know soon the other deadlines for referee reports, review and publication.
We look forward to receiving your papers and working with you to publish this special dossier from Women and the Silent Screen VII.
Best wishes,
Victoria Duckett
